Who and what is in it

Is Tom Holland in Avengers: Doomsday?

Is Tom Holland in Avengers: Doomsday? The Spider-Man actor was not in the announced cast, and his slate points to Brand New Day. Here's the honest status of a Holland appearance.

Separate the actor from the mask for a second, because Tom Holland’s situation is really a scheduling story - and the calendar is not on Spidey’s side.

The dance-card problem

Holland’s next job is locked: Spider-Man: Brand New Day, his fourth solo outing, which is his top priority. Leading one blockbuster while also flying to the Doomsday set to squeeze into a 60-hero ensemble - both shooting in overlapping windows - is the kind of logistics that gets a cameo cut before it’s ever greenlit.

And when Marvel unveiled the Doomsday cast to 275 million livestream viewers, Holland’s name card simply never came up. For an actor this big, that’s a loud silence.

The Sony handshake

There’s a second wrinkle nobody outside the studios controls: Holland’s Spider-Man is co-owned by Sony and Marvel. Every crossover appearance is a negotiation between two companies, not a casual favour. For a film already bursting with the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts, adding a shared-custody character is extra paperwork Marvel may simply not have bothered with this time.

So could Holland still turn up?

Never say never with Marvel - Benedict Cumberbatch flatly denied being in the movie, then joked “don’t ever believe anything I say,” and he’s in it. Surprises are the house style. But an unannounced Holland cameo is a very different bet from a confirmed role, and right now there is no confirmation at all.

Where it lands: the actor’s schedule points away from Doomsday, and Marvel left his chair conspicuously empty. Hope for a swing-by; don’t plan on one. For the character-level odds, see is Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday.
