The unusual rollout - and the leaks

Marvel tied the four teasers to weekly screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, meaning fans effectively had to go to the cinema to catch each one. Every teaser leaked online ahead of its official release anyway - a rollout some commentators found frustrating, though the numbers suggest it worked. The Russo brothers described the teasers as "stories" and "clues" rather than conventional trailers, each carrying a piece of narrative information.

By the numbers

  • The March 2025 cast-reveal livestream drew 275 million views in 24 hours, a cross-platform record.
  • The four teasers passed 1.02 billion combined views within three days of the fourth.
  • The full trailer hit 503 million views in 24 hours - Disney's most-viewed trailer, and the second-biggest launch on record behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

What we still don't know

Marvel and the Russo brothers have suggested more footage may arrive before release, but no date for a second full trailer has been confirmed. We'll add it here the moment it's official.

Some fans noted an unusual amount of empty space in one teaser and speculated it was hiding a spoiler. That's fan interpretation, not anything Marvel has acknowledged - see how we handle that on the Theories page. Theory
