Yes - and of all the returning heroes, Loki might be the one who matters most to the plot. Tom Hiddleston is confirmed, and specifically as the 2012 “New York” variant - the Loki who snatched the Tesseract and vanished during the Endgame time heist, then headlined his own series.
That detail is everything. This isn’t the Loki who died to Thanos. It’s the one who got recruited by the Time Variance Authority and spent two seasons learning how the timelines actually work - before ending up literally holding them together.
Why the God of Mischief is the key
Stop and think about what Doomsday is: multiple universes smashing into each other as reality frays. Now think about who, in the entire MCU, best understands the machinery of the timelines:
- He’s been inside the TVA, the agency built to police reality.
- His series ended with him transformed from trickster into a reluctant guardian of the branches.
- He has personal history with half the heroes in the film.

The one unknown
What we can’t call yet is size. “Confirmed in the cast” doesn’t tell us whether he’s a lead or a crucial cameo. But given where his story parked him, betting on “minor” would be foolish. Don’t be surprised if the God of Mischief ends the saga as its unlikely hero - or its most meaningful casualty.
