What the Council of Reeds is
In the comics (Hickman’s Fantastic Four run), the Council of Reeds is an alliance of Reed Richards variants from across the multiverse who band together to “solve everything” - every problem, every threat, every universe. Their arrogance and cold logic make them a cautionary mirror: what happens when the smartest man alive stops listening to his heart.
Why it fits Doomsday
- The multiverse is open. Variants are the saga’s engine; a room full of Reeds is exactly the kind of image it enables.
- Reed vs. Doom is the core. With Pedro Pascal’s Reed confirmed (Fantastic Four in Doomsday) and Doom as the villain, exploring Reed’s intellect - and its dark side - is on-theme.
- It raises Doom’s stakes. Doom out-thinking a council of Reeds would be the ultimate flex for the villain.
How it might appear
Even a brief glimpse - a single scene of Reed encountering his variants - would land the concept without derailing the film. A fuller version could tie into how the heroes try (and fail) to stop the multiverse collapsing.
The case against
- Complexity. General audiences may find a lecture on Reed variants hard to follow.
- Focus. Doomsday already juggles the Avengers, X-Men and FF; the Council might be a Secret Wars idea instead.
