Is Avengers: Doomsday setting up the Young Avengers? Marvel has quietly seeded a bench of young heroes - here's the theory that the saga's end assembles them.
Marvel has spent years quietly assembling the pieces of a Young Avengers team, and a saga-ending reset is the obvious place to pay it off. The theory: Doomsday and Secret Wars thin the old guard and clear the stage for the next generation.
The bench Marvel has built
Across films and Disney+ shows, Marvel has introduced a remarkable number of younger heroes:
- Kate Bishop (Hawkeye)
- Ms Marvel / Kamala Khan
- Cassie Lang (Ant-Man: Quantumania)
- America Chavez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness)
- Ironheart / Riri Williams
- Wiccan (seeded in Agatha All Along)
In the comics, most of these characters are core Young Avengers. That’s not an accident.
Why the saga’s end is the trigger
- A reset makes room. If Doomsday and Secret Wars remove or age out veterans (see will the Avengers die), someone has to fill the gap.
- Generational hand-off. Marvel’s post-saga era needs fresh leads; a young team is the logical spine.
- Thematic fit. The end of one age naturally begins another.
The counterpoint
Doomsday is already stuffed with the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four. A full Young Avengers formation may be too much for this film and land better after Secret Wars, in the rebuilt MCU - see how the Multiverse Saga ends.

Possible - the setup is real, the timing is the question. Don’t expect a formal Young Avengers roster in Doomsday itself, but watch for the pieces being nudged into place for what comes next.
