Clear your evening. As tickets went on sale, Marvel confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will run 165 minutes - two hours and 45 minutes - putting it among the longest films the MCU has ever released.

That length tells its own story. You don’t book a near-three-hour runtime to introduce a villain politely. With four colliding universes, the returning X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts and a small army of Avengers to service - plus Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom at the centre of it - the film needs every minute.

Premium “Infinity Vision” and IMAX screenings opened alongside standard seats, and demand was immediate. For formats, dates and the full rollout, see Release Information; if you’re weighing when to go, our Where to Watch guide breaks down the options.

One prediction we’ll make now: at 165 minutes, there’s plenty of room for the gut-punch this film is building toward.
